Here I was born and grew up, played and loved, left and came back.

Träume von der Rückkehr
Träume von der Rückkehr
And I ask myself which is closer to my heart—she, or the mother who gave birth to me? And to which of those two hearts am I close?
Träume von der Rückkehr
And my soul yearns for my mother over there; between her and me, too, lies a great sea, countries beyond countries, and guards standing at the borders.
Träume von der Rückkehr
What's the difference between me, or you, or him, and them? We all walk the same street, ride the same bus, our children get the same diploma, we read the same paper—the same grief and the same joy!
